Toss the old notions of environmentalism into the recycling bin. Investor Vinod Khosla of Khosla Ventures shatters conventional wisdom of energy reduction, and instead encourages entrepreneurs to solve environmental problems via cost-effective, innovative, and scalable engineering.

skiss  I clicked on it just to see what it was, and ended up listening to the whole hour... Very smart guy ! This is such a good overview of the overall energy and climate change problem ! Also, I love the pragmatic approach. We need to distinguish the solutions that have a chance to solve the climate change & energy problems from the ones that will only make us "feel good".

cyril "The American leader, who has been condemned throughout his presidency for failing to tackle climate change, ended a private meeting with the words: "Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter."
He then punched the air while grinning widely, as the rest of those present including Gordon Brown and Nicolas Sarkozy looked on in shock."

steph  This show how much the guy just has no idea about the gravity of the situation and the long term consequences of mass pollution on environment and people. It is still amazing to see that he was able hold the presidency for 8 years.

dnybo  That sums up the George Bush presidency in nutshell. An odd comment that does little other than show his real intention(s) and gains him nothing. It's kind of like saying "I'm a horrible leader, ha, ha". Is anyone laughing? :)
cyril Short and interesting report.

As scientific evidence of climate change has become clearer and more compelling, the prescription for changing course seems to have become more muddled and mysterious. Philanthropists who are concerned about climate
change are inundated with a dizzying array of often contradictory options and opinions.
