Acknowledgement and acceptance of terms

Yokway is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement (the "Policy") sets forth our current privacy practices with regard to the information we collect when you or your computer ("You", the "User", the "Visitor", the "Contributor") interact with our website (the "Site", "Yokway", "Yokway.com", "We"). By accessing Yokway.com, you acknowledge and fully understand Yokway’s Privacy Statement and freely consent to the information collection and use practices described in this Website Privacy Statement.

Because Yokway is intended for users to share a variety of information with other users, it is important to distinguish between what Yokway will share with third parties, and what users are themselves sharing on the Site. Users should be aware that what they share on the Site is public (accessible by anyone) or semi-public (accessible by people other than the content contributor) in nature and may be discovered by third parties, including, search engine crawlers, bots etc.... Users should always take that into consideration whenever they share something on our site.

Limitations

This Privacy Policy applies to the web sites and services that are owned and operated by Yokway. We do not exercise control over the sites displayed as search results or links from within our web site. These other sites may place their own cookies or other files on your computer, collect data or solicit personal information from you.

Information we collect and how we use it

Yokway collects certain information from and about its users three ways: directly from our Web Server logs, with Cookies and beacons, and directly from the users.

1. Use of Web Server Logs.
   

   When you visit our Website, we may track information to administer the site and analyze its usage. Examples of information we may track include: our Internet protocol address, the kind of browser or computer you use, number of links you click within the site, state or country from which you accessed the site, date and time of your visit, name of your Internet service provider, web page you linked to our site from, pages you viewed on the site.

2. Use of Cookies
   

   Yokway may use cookies to personalize or enhance your user experience. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by a Web page server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. Cookies are uniquely assigned to you, and can only be read by a Web Server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.

   One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalize a web page, or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. Hence, this simplifies the process of delivering relevant content and eases site navigation by providing and saving your preferences and login information as well as providing personalized functionality.

   You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies. If you reject cookies by changing your browser settings then be aware that this may disable some of the functionality on our Website.

3. Use of Beacons
   

   Web pages on Yokway.com may contain electronic images known as Web beacons – sometimes also called single-pixel gifs – that allow Yokway to count users who have visited those pages and to deliver co-branded services. Yokway may include Web beacons in e-mail messages or newsletters in order to determine whether messages have been opened and acted upon. Yokway prohibits Web beacons from being used to collect or access your personal information.

4. Use of User-provided information
   

   Public information

   Visitors to our website that choose to register will be asked to provide personal information such as name, picture....related to the creation of a public profile viewed by other users. Information collected at the time of the registration is stored for later use by the site.

   • Registered users may choose to have Yokway aggregate their activity (feeds) from other public websites accessible without a password or special permissions, and we will ask for a username for each site to provide this service. The credentials needed to access the content for aggregation will be stored to pull content from the feeds and provide the expected service when needed
   • Entries submitted for posting to Yokway including but not limited to comments, links, pictures, contacts' public profiles... will be stored on the Yokway servers and will be accessible by other users without restrictions. These entries will be associated with the public profile of the contributor

   Private information

   • Registered users may choose to have Yokway collect information on their behalf from non-public websites (requiring a password or other special permission), and we will ask for the credentials (user name, password) necessary to access this information. To protect the user's private information we do not store the credentials provided without additional explicit consent
   • Information contributed by users in areas of the site explicitly marked as private is not exposed on Yokway.com, except to the user who contributed the information in the first place, and to users already in possession of the information (by example when searching for a contact on Yokway by email address). All information imported from private websites is considered private information for this purpose, as well as all contact email addresses
   • When a registered user invites friends to Yokway or sends messages through Yokway, we collect and maintain information associated with those messages, including email addresses and content.

How we use information

In addition to the information uses as detailed above, Yokway may use collected information for the following purposes:

• Sending you information related to your Yokway account or other Yokway services.
• Auditing, research and analysis in order to maintain, protect and improve our services.
• Ensuring the technical functioning of our infrastructure.
• Developing new services.

Transfer of information

Yokway only shares personal information with other companies or individuals outside of Yokway in the following limited circumstances:

• We have your consent. We require opt-in consent for the sharing of any sensitive personal information.
• We provide such information to our subsidiaries, affiliated companies or other trusted businesses or persons for the purpose of processing personal information on our behalf. We require that these parties agree to process such information based on our instructions and in compliance with this Policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.
• We have a good faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of such information is reasonably necessary to (a) satisfy any applicable law, regulation, legal process or enforceable governmental request, (b) enforce applicable Terms of Service, including investigation of potential violations thereof, (c) detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues, or (d) protect against imminent harm to the rights, property or safety of Yokway, its users or the public as required or permitted by law.

If Yokway becomes involved in a merger, acquisition, or any form of sale of some or all of its assets, we will provide notice before personal information is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy. We may share with third parties certain pieces of aggregated, non-personal information that does not identify individual users.

Information security

We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of data. These include internal reviews of our data collection, storage and processing practices and security measures, as well as physical security measures to guard against unauthorized access to systems where we store personal data.

We restrict access to personal information to Yokway employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop or improve our services. These individuals are bound by confidentiality obligations and may be subject to discipline, including termination and criminal prosecution, if they fail to meet these obligations.

Data integrity

Yokway processes personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected and in accordance with this Policy or any applicable service-specific privacy notice. We review our data collection, storage and processing practices to ensure that we only collect, store and process the personal information needed to provide or improve our services. We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we process is accurate, complete, and current, but we depend on our users to update or correct their personal information whenever necessary.

Accessing and updating personal information

When you use Yokway.com, we make good faith efforts to provide you with access to your personal information and either to correct this data if it is inaccurate or to delete such data at your request if it is not otherwise required to be retained by law or for legitimate business purposes.
